- TRADITIONAL, HERBACEOUS, BAMBOO RICE: Our Green Bamboo Rice features a wonderful herbal aroma and a mild flavor similar to green tea. Colored and flavored by the bamboo juice, or "tea," of fresh bamboo added after the milling process, we remove the hull and bran of the rice, allowing the juice to permeate the remaining grain.
- COMPLIMENT YOUR DISH: The uniquely colorful green hue offers an exotic touch to any plate presentation. Before cooking, bamboo rice is a striking, deep jade green hue. After cooking, much of the color remains, in addition to a subtle herbal flavor. In addition to providing a gorgeous color and subtle flavor, the addition of bamboo juice returns some of the nutrients that are lost in the white rice milling process. Bamboo Rice is especially high in vitamin B and antioxidants.
- PERFECT FOR: Bamboo Rice has a moist and sticky texture, so other ingredients like vegetables adhere well to it, making it a unique option for risotto-style dishes, sushi and other applications in which a sticky rice is desired. It is also naturally gluten free, making it the perfect option for any individual with Celiac or a gluten intolerance. We recommend serving with fish, shellfish, chicken or pork.
- HOW TO USE: Bring 1 cup Bamboo Rice and 1 1/2 cups water to a boil. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let. sit for 5 minutes before removing the lid. Fluff with a fork before serving.
