The lapsang souchong tea is termed smoked black tea because in the production process there is a process of baking over pine wood, allowing the tea leaves to absorb the smoky flavor of the burning pine. As a result, the tea takes on its characteristic smoky scent and flavor, strong in the first few infusions and slowly fading through subsequent steeps, but never disappearing completely.
We suggest that using yixing clay teapot or porcelain gaiwan to bew lapsang souchong tea.
