Description
The Rooibos PlantRooibos (which means 'red bush' in Afrikaans) grows only in South Africa's Cederberg Mountains. When harvested it is a rich green colour, and only when fermented does it turn the deep rusty red that gives the tea its name. Rooibos is naturally caffeine free with a sweeter flavour and less than half the tannin of black tea.Why choose our tea?For the SanThe Bushmen of southern Africa (or 'San') are the original hunter-gatherers, directly descended from the earliest humans. They were also the first people to discover the benefits of drinking tea made from rooibos.Over the centuries, the San have struggled to preserve their way of life in an increasingly difficult world, to the point that only around 100,000 remain, mostly in impoverished conditions.
