Celery seeds are the dry products of Apium graveolens. They belong to the same family, umbelliferae, as parsley, parsnip, caraway, and carrots. Celery have a similar scent to stalk celery with a more intense and slightly bitter taste. Celery seeds have similar characteristics to fennel and anise but with a grassy and slightly bitter aroma.
