Shengdi is a perennial herb with a body height of 10-30cm and densely covered with gray-white multicellular villous and glandular hairs. The rhizome is fleshy, yellow when fresh, under cultivation conditions, the diameter can reach 5.5cm, and the stem is purple-red. The leaves usually form a rosette at the base of the stem, and shrink strongly into bracts upward, or gradually shrink and alternate on the stem; the sex is mild.
