Vista Bean was founded with a belief that people & relationship should be at the forefront of every decision. We bring purpose to the coffee we produce as an opportunity to Love People More. All our coffee is relationally sourced and comes from the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda, Africa. It is 100% Arabica Coffee, which is Organically Farmed, and grown between 4500ft 6500ft above sea level. The coffee varieties are SL14 & SL28, which are both pest and drought resistant. We buy and process fresh red cherries directly from the small share farmers who produce them, a majority which are woman owned and operated! Our specialty coffee process is washed (pulp removed prior to drying), or natural (dried within the cherry). The "washed" coffee is pulped the day its picked and then fermented in tanks for 12 36 hours. Once the fermentation process is complete, the coffee beans are spread on drying racks for approximately 12 days. The "natural" coffee is left in the cherry and dried for approximately 2-3 weeks. When the coffee reaches a moisture content level of 12%, it goes to the dry mill for cleaning, polishing, sorting, and final grading, to prepare it for barrier bagging & export.
