This is one of our most popular flavors of jam. We originally made it for our own personal use by picking blackberries in Tilden Park in the Berkeley hills, and one day after a two grocery bag haul, while we were cooking up the berries, I decided to toss in some ground walnuts for fun. Well the flavor combination is out of this world! We leave the blackberry seeds in the jam because like chia seeds, all seeds are very healthy for you. We sell this to a lot of gourmet cheese shops who pair it with cheeses, though it is fantastic on toast and yes, you can bake with it. If you want to remove the seeds, all you do is dump the jam in a small sauce pan, bring it up to heat and then push through a small strainer with a spatula. Then add it hot back into the jar. Like all our jam, we do not add pectin. Blackberries have a significant amount of natural pectin in them so this is a very thick jam naturally.
