Our facility has a joint program with the women's prison, where dogs are housed for six week periods to learn basic manners. The CD was used for a specific dog that barked. After a protocol for using the CD was in place, the dog would bark for 2-3 minutes, then quieted down while left alone - even when there was noise from outside the cell. The music seemed to instantly calm the dogs. After the third day of playing the music -- before closing time for a half an hour -- they would become very quiet when they saw me reach for the CD player. The dogs would stop their barking/howling only after minutes of playing the CD.
